We like the Refuge on Roanoke Island. It has a nice pool and a saltwater lagoon. The campsites are arranged so that you back in and if you have a back window/living room RV, you are looking right out onto the water. Great sunsets! No, it is not on the beach, however you are no more than 10 min over the bridge and the beach is right there. We also love going south a few miles and getting fresh fish in Wanchese a commercial fishing village . You can also venture north on the island to Manteo for shopping, maritime history, and a beautiful bay walk. My kids like to crab at the campground it has a very nice board walk out into the marsh areas. They run a tight ship and that's OK with us. Nice Place Say hello to Miss Peggy she runs the campground.
