Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
This is a clean park and it does have narrow sites. Grandpa and Grandma are VERY unfriendly. They seem to have an obsessive compulsive thing regarding dogs. You get an extra page at check-in telling you if your dog goes to the bathroom on a bush you will be evicted and no refund. You get to take your dog across the street in a ditch outside the park and the list goes on. So if you have a dog don't stay here. "Pets must be kept inside RV and attended to at All times"

Re: Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
Mike,
This park is a great one night stand. Grandma's is our first stop when leaving home and headed South in the winter. Other than a couple long term units, the clients are new every night. Never had an issue with Cooper being with us. And another thing - no grass. All gravel. And they usually "grade" the cg a couple times a week. Good think you didn't have any kids with you. They have another page of rules for them - no bike riding, skateboards etc etc.
FYI Once you leave and start on I65 South. Stay in the center lane. The right lane used to have some tank traps in it. There big enough you can see them few 100 feet before you get there.

One would think. You haven't experienced shaking until you drive I55 thru Mississippi.Mike Clay wrote:We have been hitting them since Louisville. Nasty things they will shake you to death. Cant they pave them better then they do??

Re: Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
Sounds like the park we are going to next week with the dog issues. But their main rule is focused on barking. It even says in the brochure " BARKING DOGS ARE NOT WELCOME" you get one warning, then asked to leave. Tucker is not a barker, but he is a dog and might bark once in awhile. We have opted to leave him home with my sister this trip. He can be in where it's cool and play with her dog, much better for him in this heat. So Mike, if Rudy pees on a bush, do you have to wash it.

Re: Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
I have heard about a few parks with multiple dog rules...some quite ridiculous!! I figured it was a way of saying "your dog is not welcome here" without actually saying it and alienating a large percentage of potential customers. Same with kids riding bikes in a supposedly family friendly park. Even though I don't have a dog, and generally don't travel with kids, I tend to stay away from those parks. I just kind of assume the owners/managers are likely to be a little to "cranky".
And i got an image of Rudy trying to lift his leg high enough to pee on a bush

You were only 20 miles away, and could of stopped here for free, and the pets can go to bathroom whereever they want, plus miss all the tank traps, I think milage wise, it wouid of only been nine miles out of your way. I've been thru the tank traps a couple times and its a wonder my springs and frame are still in tack. My dealer was in Shepardsville, before it went belly up. Plus two campgrounds here, Otter Creek, and Camp Carlson which belongs to Ft Knox. See you in a couple days.

Re: Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
Sheesh if I would have known John I would have stopped and said hey. Once we left Shepardsville the tank traps went away and the road was pretty good into Nashville. But between Louisville and Grandmas they were bad and pretty much where I started hearing my backing plate rattling under my trailer. In fact the last rest stop before Shepardsville is where we could hear the grinding coming from the drum.

Re: Grandmas rv park Shepardsville KY
Road deformation large enough to swallow a small car. Part of the concrete roadway sinks an inch or two or three and is poorly patched. Makes for a horrible ride when towing. You always look to see if the wheels are still on the rig.ski boy wrote:What is a tank trap?

And poorly patched is an under statement. and there are like 3 of them per mile in places.
