Check out Anza Borrego State Park, Borrego Springs. It is like a miniature Death Valley. The wild flowers should be awesome this spring, beginning now, with off road trails, dry camps and hook up camps. Hiking and golf too. It is between Salton Sea and Escondido in a valley, close to Julian. Get there several ways.

Carpenteria State Park on the coast of California. It's the old coast highway single lane highway that is now an RV park with a view of the ocean that is beyond description.
