After a couple day at Abilene SP we headed to Caprocks.

Just a short walk for our campsite Cathy and I took a little hike on the canyon rim.

Cathy enjoying the view.

This hike was a little further down the road and had great views of the valley.

And some neat rock formations.

And of course there were some critters. This guy was right near our campsite.

And some big guys! Some of the boys playing near a water hole.

Crossing the road to head back to the herd.

Thanks Dayna and Millie, we've enjoyed the state parks we've been to on this journey home.

Thanks Donna, Don and Tom. Got to love the wildlife. :d

Don, we tried to get the senior pass but we had to be Texas resident. We did buy a park pass, it paid for itself in day-use fees alone. Plus you get the second night at half price. :thumbrt:

I read that on the back of my card but I told the young lady I was not a Texas resident when she gave it to me and she said that was okay! I even gave here my California address!
I guess it pays to look like Santa Claus :))

Rob, that Park Pass will be good for a year so you can see your family and then come back and check out some more of our state parks. As you have seen they really are RV friendly and you'll find a wide variety of scenery. If you are still in the Texas Panhandle you might take a day trip to the Alibates Flint Quary National Monument jut NE of Amarillo.

Now you tell me Bill, as we're in Liberal (my kind of town) Kansas. 8)

Rob you can always go back. There's plenty more to see in the Amarillo area.
