Landing gear motor

Post by Diesel Dave 04 »

Do all the landinggear motors sound as if they are struggling to lift the unit?

In the past units I had the landing gear didnt seem to struggle like this unit, It works fine but all most makes you think the Batt is half dead.
I know the Batt is not bad and I even used a 2nd batt. but it makes no diff. It still goes slow and sounds like you are killing it to lift the unit.

Are they all like this or should i be taking it in to be looked at?

Out of the other 5ers I have had it seems this one is the slowest. Now on the other hand the slides move at warp speed.

When I ordered my 34qs my salesman advised me to order with the optional hydraulic landing gear system......saying that it would be much faster and durable. I'm glad that I took his advice...he was correct!!. Are you folks having the problem with the electric or hydraulic landing gear systems??

electric, i wish my sales guy would have talked me into hyd.. how do they work? off the same pump the slidouts use? and once level do you pin them cause im sure they would drift overtime.

Dave....yes the landing gear (hydraulic) system works off of the same pump as the slideouts...........this is my first 5er so I really don't have any prior experience with an electric landing gear system but I don't believe that I do anything different as far as adjusting the landing gear....only difference that I can see is that mine is powered hydraulically.....works well and is FAST!
