Fuel stops--any height problems?

Post by markj »

I have yet to fill my diesel tank while towing my Cardinal 31RK. It's just short of 13' tall. Has anyone had a problem with low roof lines at gas stations?

We try and hit the truck stops where we know there is enough height.

Height problems

Post by Don Wilson »

Hi Mark

I haven't had any problems yet and have been pulling it for 2 1/2 years, but if I have concerns I pull close then get out and check.

The place I have had problems is at some county parks usually with lakes where they have two lanes and a covering.

If they are low you will usually see damage by someone before you who has already hit the overhead.

In 2 1/2 years of towing we haven't had any problems either. DH carries and extra 15 gal's on long trips, and whenever possible will fuel up the morning we are leaving before he hooks up.

No problems with the gas station overhang, but we pulled into a Walmart complex in Jennings, Louisiana with the purpose of getting gas and lost the vent cover over the bed because Walmart had installed clearance bars. We got in...but we busted it coming out

Even I had to re-read my post! We used a different entrance to get in than we did going out without realizing they had different height bars.
