adding sleeping capacity part two
Okay, it seems my first post on this subject didn't generate much of a response. Maybe it is an issue not too many of you are interested in, but I'll give it another shot.
Today I made a quick trip to Camping World and picked out a nice Flexsteel Easy Bed sofa with Alaskan Blue upholstery. Since the shipping carton was ripped, (BIG DEAL) they offered to discount the price an additional 10%. That really made me grin! The color matches my interior quite nicely. With LA county sales taxes it came to $603.00... Not too shabby, I suppose.
I took out the recliners and installed the sofa in their place. I am very pleased it all fits well. I just am not sure I am not going to miss my comfortable recliners. Oh, what grandparents won't do for their grand kids!
By the way, the change out was a snap! see the pics of it here. http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/559106241CCGuOn

Sorry about not responding to your first post pop's.
I had chosen the booth dinette for the very same reason you got the sofa, and to date...have never had to put it down for a bed. The sofa sleeper has been sufficient, the grandchildren don't go with us that often, and I now wish I had gotten the table and chairs instead...oh well...it will get swapped out one day...lol
It looks nice and I hope you kept your recliners, just in case you change your mind down the road.

Oh, the recliners are on stand-by alright. It was so easy to make the swap that I told my wife we can go back to the recliners when we know the grandkids are not going to be with us.
We, chose the table and chairs, and it was later my wife (only) regretted it and wanted to buy the booth set. This was my way out of that! I never cared for the booth thing in any of my trailers.
PS- I really, really love your signature quote!!

No, I moved the sofa bed towards the front of the trailer. I swapped the dining table and chairs. See it here:

New Sofa
Hi Mike,
The conversion from the recliners to the couch looks like something that we might want to do with our trailer. Actually the whole rearrangements you have made make alot of sense for our trailer and family size.
Have you determined how many adults can sleep on the new couch?
Is it comfortable to sit on and has anyone slept on it yet to determine how comfortable it is?

The couch is firm, not as plush as my recliners. As to how many adults can sleep on it depends on how large or small they may be, and if they are good friends!
I am sure that two can sleep on it but they would be crowded since it opens to a width of 46 inches. Since I am sleeping my grandkids, it won't be any problem.
Is it comfortable to sit on? Depends on what you are used too. It's firm like I said and it is low on the back, which is why I chose it. For sleeping we will roll out a thick foam egg-crate topper to fill in the cushion seams.
Don't forget there is storage below the couch, too!
We haven't taken it on the road yet. I am getting it set up for the family campout we have every July with our kids and grandkids. Our kids prefer to tent camp, but our grandkids love grampa's trailer! Ergo the choice to add sleeping space.
