Range hood vent

We have had a 31RKT for about 5 months now and love it.
Have noticed that the Microwave/range hood does not vent to the outside. This is a rear kitchen TT and it appears that it would be very easy to change it over to outside vent.

Has any one done this?

Hi dmitchem, and welcome to the club.

I'm with you, I have no idea why new trailers don't vent the stove fan outside. Be sure to have your kitchen overhead fan on when using stove vent or you're very likely to set off the smoke alarm.

We don't use ours because it DOES vent to the inside.

I think you will find that usually the microwave vents just return to the room, (I have noticed this even in homes), while the cheaper exhaust hoods vent to the outside.

This is my third trailer and the first to have a built-in microwave and with a range hood exhaust that is not thru the wall. I do not like it, but I would not opt to cut a hole in my wall to amend it either.

It is also my first trailer with the kitchen on the curbside. Venting the exhaust to the awning side may be why the 'engineers' chose not to go thru the wall.

The other purpose, I think, is to prevent drafts. The fan does remove the grease as it filters the air on the coalescing filter. Still, I would rather have the vent outside. Just my opinion.

My dealer installed an exterior vent before I took delivery. For me, it is a better set-up.
