Electrical Help Needed!

If you have both air conditioner working then both legs on the 50a circuit are working.

I think George is right and you've dropped a neutral line somewhere. Sounds like you're doing the right thing and tracing it back.

OK, I found it. Sorry I couldn't take any pictures, it was getting dark. There IS a distribution box. Mine is located on the rear frame, behind the fiberglass cap. One of the clamp-on wire nuts was tight enough to hold the wires in but not secure enough to keep a complete circuit.
I want to thank everone for their help and suggestions. It's nice to have friends. :D

GREAT JOB!!........Glad that you diagnosed the problem. I'm really impressed with your perseverance....don't know if I could have "ripped things apart" to find the problem like you did......that was a lot of work and took patience!!..... :thumbrt:
