Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. It did have an explanation on the box, but I don't remember what it was. I know we enjoy being able to cook without it going off and still being protected. I tested it with match smoke and it works fine.

Just remember, if it goes off in the middle of the night BAIL OUT!

When everyone is outside, then check to see what caused it. RV's go up quick. So can a house, when our house went up, my wife only had 3 or 4 minuites to get clear from the time she noticed something wrong.
