Warranty Work

Post by ratherbcamping »

This summer we discovered two cracks near the "passenger" side propane door. One was about 4 inches long, the other about 2 inches. We e-mailed pictures to our dealer, who forwarded them to Forest River. Within a couple of days, Terry at Forest River contacted me directly.

He told us to get an estimate, and fax or e-mail it to him. It took about a week to find someplace willing to do work on such a large rig -- we live in a VERY rural area with not many options. DH asked at work and found an auto repair shop about 30 miles away that had done excellent work for one of his colleagues. We got the estimate, and sent it to Forest River.

Terry authorized the repair, and we made arrangements to get the work done. The auto shop did a fabulous job. You can't tell there was a repair, except that one area of the trailer was much cleaner! We had to pay the bill, and then submit it to Forest River for reimbursement.

The other good news that I wanted to share is that we got the check in the mail today.

All-in-all, we are quite satisfied with Forest River's response to our problem. Thanks Terry! (Forest River's East Coast Warranty Rep.)

The entire process took about two months from start to finish. One full week was spent trying to find someone willing to do the repair work. The trailer was in the shop from a Sunday night to Wednesday afternoon.

One month was spent waiting for the check after submitting the paperwork to Forest River.
