Forest River Dometic Refrigerator Recall

I got a recall letter from Forest River on Dometic Refrigerators. If you haven't gotten a letter and have one of these listed you might want to contact Forest River or call 1-888-446-5157.

Affected Units:
The potentially affected refrigerators have the following model numbers:
NDR1062, RM2652, RM2662, RM2663, RM2852, RM2862, RM3663, RM3862 and RM3863.

The possibly affected units have serial numbers beginning with the following conbinations:
713xxxxx through 752xxxxx
801xxxxx through 852xxxxx
901xxxxx through 952xxxxx
001xxxxx through 052xxxxx
201xxxxx through 252xxxxx
301xxxxx through 319xxxxx

Is this a new recall or the one that's been out there for awhile? Did they give a description of the recall?

I just got this in the mail today so I'm guessing it's a new recall.

It is a safety recall.

It states,

The Problem: A fatigue crack can develop in the boiler tube on the identified refrigerators, which can permit the release of pressurized coolant solution. If this solution is exposed to an ignition source under certain specific circumstances, it can result in a vehicle fire.

I think that is the same recall that has been in effect for all Dometics with those numbers.

It's the same recall that has been around for over a year. I'm sure by now most folks have had the fix done on their refrig. FR is just covering their butt.
