Picture of our table modification

Post by Double D's »

Here is a picture of the new table that we just finished reworking for our 29RKLE. We didn't care for the chrome legs on this table and will never drop it down to make it into a bed, so decided to have hubby turn the leg and make the top larger, by adding a wider band of oak all around the top. We LOVE IT!

Looks like Dennis did a good job on the table leg, wish I could do that kind of woodwork. I can't cut 2 pieces of wood the same length.
I like my table and chairs, but miss the storage I use to have under the seat.

That looks fantastic! I hate those chrome legs also. My table is mostely used for a catch all when we go camping. Most of our meals are cooked and eaten outside. We are actually not inside very much.

You're lucky your husband can do things like that! Very nice job.

Thanks Charles! We sure like the looks of it better!

Ernie, we really need the storage under those benches - it is where I put my canned goods. Yup! He is a DURN good woodworker, for a heavy equipment operator! LOL!

Linda, We only eat out when we are up in Northern Wisconsin for our yearly trip to the Country Music Festival with our friends. The rest of the traveling is usually in the winter, so we wanted something to look a bit classier than we felt the chrome legs looked. Hubby is a really handy guy! LOL!

Wow, that looks fabulous! Almost makes me wish that we had opted for the dinette, but don't think I could have convinced DH to do that.

LOL! We sure need the space in here, as we don't have a pantry like those of you in larger units do. I needed the storage space that the area under the seats provide for my canned goods. We really wanted it to look more 'residential', and the chrome legs just didn't cut it for us! Thanks! Donna

As usual I am impressed with both of you's ability to doll up that rig! We are now working on the inside of ours, finally. Got some of the original watercolors (plus a stained glass in the back window) up today and a bit more scheduled for tomorrow, still loving having only one house to make nice!

Can't wait till Feb to see YOUR wonderful new additions.! Will tell Den that you approve!! He was SO impressed with your angled front jack stabilizers (not sure what they are called!), so he decided his NEXT project will be to make some of those up! LOL! So, he will be playing up in the shed again. Keeps him out of trouble, I guess.. LOL!

Donna, Check the old posts in the tech section, I am sure Olbird had built a much better version than mine from square stock steel. Dennis and his shop should be able to create the ultimates! Poor old me now has the entire shop in a fifth wheel toolbox on the back of the truck (sniff - nah!)

Thanks, Bruce, for the suggestion about George's stabilizers. I did some searching and found them (I couldn't remember just WHOSE pix they were, but DID remember seeing them.) Need to pm him to see where he got the nice handles.
Hey, if you ever need a fully loaded shop to work from, just hook up and come on back up. I'll throw another tater in the pot for ya and maybe bake a cake! HA! Donna
