Tire Size

Post by tug911 »

We have a 2006 Cardinal 30TS and the tire size is ST235/85R16E and I have the new Cardinal book for 2007 and the tire size for the 30TS is now ST235/80R16E and I was wondering why the change in tire size. Does anyone know why?
Thanks,
Mike & Bonnie

I just hope it's not another lowest bidder situation (Kenda), let's hope the reason is just due to clearance issues or something similar.

Tire Size

The only difference I notice was that the UVW was less on the 2007. UVW for 2006 was 9,855 and 2007 it's 9,655 and the CC is 3,866 on the 2007 and 4,225 on the 2006. I took these figures right out of the 2006 book and the 2007 book.So would that make a difference on the tire size??? all the others numbers are the same.

When we got the 05 30WBLE it had the Kenda LT235/85R16E series tires and when Kenda did the silent recall we got the Karrier ST235/80R16E tires to replace the Kendas. Guess they are going with the 80Rs now vice the 85s. I plan to go the Michelin XTP, think that's the series, route in a year or so in ST235/85R16E and just change back to my smaller RotoChok wedges.

The swap out had to do with a certain batch of Kenda tires that they were having problems with. Check the back posts on the Yahoo Cardinal forum for additional data and batch data.
