Venting Battery

Post by Pez »

The temp has droped down to freezing in this area a few days in the last 2 weeks. So I,
Went to storage today and removed the batters from the Bird to put a charge on them.

First time I had removed the batters and was very surprised when I removed the batters and found only one that was vented on the bottom.
I have the tubes that go to the top of the battery boxes.

The battery installed by Forest River had a hole cut in the floor of the box with a aluminum sleeve installed so when the air flows thur the tube it'is vented to the bottom of the box and flow out.

The dealer installed a second battery and secured the box to the floor but did not cut a hole in the floor to vent like the factory battery.

You would think it would be the safety issue because of the generator in the same area and install the battery like the one from Forest River.

I am happy with the dealer we purchased from, they have great service
but just had to vent my frustrations.
