SEAL AND SEAL AND Seal some more

Post by Heat84 »

  Ok the big day is coming when we pick up our BIRD. YES FRIDAY APRIL 1,2007.
My question is seal? Before we go out on our first adventure with the new bird I would like to seal up everything that need's to be sealed. Do I still seal around all the door's,window's,etc.
What do I USE AND WHERE DO I NEED TO SEAL ? don't want those little critters getting in or rain for that matter.
 I just don't like running into problems when out on the roadway aw  ay from the homestead. SO I'll like to get any help at all to get me going on the right path to fun loving camping.
Thank you Mike & Brenda

The most important sealing will involve checking the integrity of all sealant on the roof. It is prone to cracking as it gets old and needs to be refreshed occasionally and will cause damage to the structure if not tended to. I recommend DICOR rubber roof sealant, it is a self-leveling sealer and holds up well.
I've not had trouble with other pests except ants, we find spreading a bit of granular insecticide around the tires, jacks, hoses and cables keeps them at bay.
Enjoy the trip!

On the greener side.....I deal in ag irrigation equipment and we get lots of critters in our controls. But for ants we often use 20 mule team Borax to keep them away. They just don't like it.
