When I bought my F450, I had insurance problems. All the passenger ins.co told me the truck was commercial only due to the 16000lb GVW, 1000lbs over for pass. vehicle. Insured it thru my RV ins co, no problem. Way less than comm rate and about the same as I was paying for my F350. I also keep it registerd at the max weight rating. Here in NY, DOT is starting to mess with the RV'ers. Just another way to raise $.

Signed my life away and finally purchased new 2009 Ford F250 Crew V10 4x4 XLT fully loaded. Weighed the pros and cons of deisel truck but for our needs the gasser will do till we consider retirement in 4-6 yrs. Now if it were only spring
Thanks for all the advise.
Ps we gave away mint 2005 Tahoe LT which depreciated at a ridiculus rate. Our 2006 Rockwood 2607 travel trailer which we just sold fetched $4500.00 more than the truck. Go figure?

Congrats on the new TV. I just recieved my first Cardinal last week, truly a step up from the 32RLS Laredo I was in. The Laredo was weighed in at 11,500 lbs and I average about 10 to 11 MPG and 8 to 9 in the mountains. The Cardinal is the 09 3625 LX Edition with all of the bells and whistles and weighed in fully loaded minus water at 13,620. I know I'm going to bed read the riot act about towing this with the F250 but it really tows well. I took it out over the weekend and it pull through the hills awesome. I added timbren suspension helpers which leveled my 5er out and exhaust brakes which helped in the downhill. Other than that the 6.0L has been very good to us. I plan on in the future stepping up to the 350 or atleast sticking with a Ford.

Congrats on the new truck. What axle ratio did you get the 4.10 or 4.30?

We stuck with the 410's. Should be more than adequete for our trailer weight. Not that gas mileage matters when driving a truck like this but every little bit helps as we will not tow cross country yet

Congrats on the new TV. That V10 will do a good job. Ours is the 310hp unit with 2 valves per cylinder, you should do even better with the upgrade unit.
