Don, not yet. Going to get through the holidays and our 19th anniversary first, so probably in January. I'm excited to get a tow in and I think the combo is going to look real sharp.Don Wilson wrote:John have you got your hitch installed yet? You should be getting enough miles on it where you want to hook up to it to just see how it tows the Cardinal or at least see how they look together!

Re: New Truck
I have the Truxedo lo pro is that what you have? I had to bend the fins up on the back of my pin box but it can brush the mount rails on a very sharp turn.

Re: New Truck
Thanks Mike and good to know. I should be getting my hitch installed in a few weeks and I'll be able to do a test hookup to verify. I don't think this truck sits any higher than my Ford did so I'm hoping to still have about 6-7" of clearance.Mike Clay wrote:I have the Truxedo lo pro is that what you have? Re: New Truck
I have about 7" of clearance but the bottom of the pinbox is where my problem is. The worst it has hit was backing into Dennis and Donnas. Won't hit in that area again.

Re: New Truck
I finally got my base plate and bed plug installed on Friday. Today I dropped the hitch in and got everything snugged up per B&W specs.
Just waiting for some dry warm weather (yeah right, this is Oregon in a El Niño) so I can complete a couple of maintenance items on the bird and get a test tow, or trip in. The nice thing is the hitch sits nice and dry under my tonneau cover.

Ok, who's got two thumbs and a smile from ear to ear ????????
This guy!!!
Today was our first tow with the new truck and boy oh boy does this thing have power. I couldn't be happier how the truck performed. We didn't hit any big hills going over to Bend, but the ones we did encounter we breezed up without any issues. I really like the exhaust brake and it just felt solid. I just need to get some more clearance between my bed rails and we'll be set.

Re: New Truck
Hey, a new Avatar picture is in order! You might need to swap out the tonneau for the inside track model. I'd wait to see the Trail-air bag kingpin first. It may collide with an inside track. More road testing is needed.

Re: New Truck
It appears in the photo that your B&W hitch does not have the fillers that they came out with to fit in the bed valleys. I believe if you contact them they will provide them to you. They help to keep the hitch from deforming the truck bed.jtaylor1920 wrote:I finally got my base plate and bed plug installed on Friday. Re: New Truck
Thanks Chris, I've never seen them in either truck so I'll give them a call.

Re: New Truck
John, nice looking rig. I notice you new truck came with the Michelin AT tires, what is you take on them now that you've had them for several months?

Re: New Truck
Bill, no complaints with the tires at all. They don't seem noisy on the road and seem to be holding up well.BMullins46 wrote:John, nice looking rig. I notice you new truck came with the Michelin AT tires, what is you take on them now that you've had them for several months?
