New Truck

Post by jtaylor1920 »

I thought I'd move out of my earlier post regarding DRW Trucks and Payloads and post some pictures and updates on outfitting the new truck.

First off here is the new rig (You can see the Bird waiting in the wings for its first ride :d)

The first step has been to move my Edge Insight over so I can start monitoring the various items on the truck such at EGT's, Regen Status and some items that are available via the DIC but you don't want to be checking while towing down the freeway.

This weekend is supposed to be dry so it will get a good washing and I'll put on my new Husky mud flaps and we'll start looking for some items to protect the interior when traveling with the dogs. I'll be keeping my B&W Companion hitch but I'll need to get the Turnover Ball mount installed and the wiring plug installed in the truck bed. That will probably happen sometime in December.

So far I'm loving the way it drives and I've managed to only curb it once with the duals :thumbrt:

We got the Laramie bucket seat option that gives a similar full center console. Great for extended travel. I bought some 12" smart phone charge cables so there is not a snake pit of cables on the console. Chris

Yes, we like the bucket seats, especially the heated seat option. We really liked the Laramie interior too and thought it was very comfortable. The Ram was a very close second on our list.

Yes, as well as some backup lights on the sides of them that come on when you're in tow haul mode and in reverse.

We garage our truck, so it is nice to push a button and have the "ears" fold in. Do it in crowded parking lots also. Chris

Put the mud guards on today. They're made by Husky and I ordered them off of Amazon. They were pretty easy to put on and a good fit. The worst part was washing the truck as it was cold this morning.

Today's truck work....................drive it :d

We drove down to Lincoln City Oregon today. What a beautiful November day at the beach, 58 degrees, clear sky and no wind.

John have you got your hitch installed yet? You should be getting enough miles on it where you want to hook up to it to just see how it tows the Cardinal or at least see how they look together!
