F450 KING RANCH

Post by JOE33060 »

Ok I told my wife I wanted to buy some more toys for my dually and she wasnt happy. After dinner she decided we should go look at the dealer to see what they had. She said it didnt make sence to put money in a truck Im going to want to trade soon. Her idea not mine so I jumped at it. Well we get to Ford and we both fell in love with a 2008 F450 KING RANCH. What a gorgous truck. So what does anyone think of these new trucks. The only concern I have is the bed hieght but I think it will be ok. Ill check with the CARDINAL dealer in the morning.

I was working at a Ford dealership last week and a guy drove up in a long bed crew-cab King Ranch with a two tone paint job. It was very impressive. I believe this is the one with the build in step in the tailgate and the interior is also new in the F450. You're right, it is a gorgeous truck.

I've heard the same thing as Mike. If it has 4" blocks you should talk to the dealer and they should replace them with 2" block for free. Some have had issues with the bed rails being to high for fifth-wheel trailers.

I went back today and looked at the truck some more. It has 2in spacers so im sure the hieght will be ok. The real problem is I drove it. I cant do anything for 2 weeks because I have to be out of town but if this one goes they have more coming. Ill keep you posted.

Yep, once you drive it you're hooked. What did you think of the new interior?

6.4 Liter Diesel

If you are considering the 6.4 Liter Powerstroke Diesel you may want to Google it. They have been having problems. Regards---Jim

Rob I really like the new interior and all its new features.I really like the stereo with navigation and ipod hookup. And the seats are so comfortable.
Jim I have a 06 Frieghtliner M2 and a 06 F450. I cant keep the M2 out of the dealer and the 450 has been good so far. I have 4 F650s on order and praying they will be ok. I have come to realize that new trucks breaking is a new part of life. I was told not to get the 450 but so far I love it. I like driving the M2 but hate owning it cause its a maintnace nightmare. Hopefully the 08 will be as good as it feels.

Ford 6.4 Diesel

Post by Jim&Peggy »

Joe and Cheryl---Please don't misunderstand my motives. I, too, wanted to buy an F-350 6.4 Powerstroke diesel. BUT I know Ford had problems with the 6.0 and the 6.4 (as I understand it is made on the same block as the 6.0). Then up came the problem with the exhaust system and recalls due to the "flame thrower". I needed a new truck for a trip in late May and didn't feel I had time to wait for Ford to resolve its problems, which I'm sure it will at a later date. Hence I opted out. I do wish you the best of luck with your new purchases. Regards----Jim

Jim I understood what you were saying,Ive just got to the point with trucks that Im fixing the new ones as much as the old ones. Its sad that we cant go spend 50K and not worry about breaking down. I hope I get a good one.

Jim, the main problem Ford was having was with the Turobs and the intake. I traded my 06 F250 because of this. Other than the flame problems with the new ones, I haven't heard of any problems.
Personally I don't buy the first production year of anything.

Hello Joe,

Go for it , you can have problems with anything you buy. If I could get a F450 short bed I would trade my 2006 F350 King Ranch in tomorrow and burn the highway up and never look back, just pull pull pull. The other makers are going to have to make flames also to pull what the new Ford can pull.

I am a Ford Man, can you tell.
