The only time I've used additive was when we had a motor home and I filled up in the summer and put it away for the winter. I was concerned that the fuel might gel in the cold weather. Now you've got me thinking I better start. One thing, why are you using the additive, what's it for, what's it do?

You guys got French Fry powered trucks in Portland area?

Watch what you use as a additive. Some help and some do not. I use WallyWorld 2 cycle oil in my old 2001.5, it is not good for the post 2007.5 engines.

Fuel additives

Chris

After reading the report it looks like the ULSD is supposed to already have an additive in it to lubricate the fuel system. You add something just in case your fuel is low on it. If I were to add anything I think it would be some B2 or B5 since it appears to be the most effective. I am pre DPF so I need to check my owners manual to see if the engine can tolerate a B anything.

You can do b5 in my 2004 Dodge I ran a b20 mix all the time with no problems. If you have an older truck and have never used bio make sure you have an extra fuel filter because this stuff cleans out everything.

So here is the deal on ULSD! They can not pump it through the pipe lines with the Lubricity additives in it, as those additives screw up jet fuel that may use the same pipe line. So Lubricity is added at the rack when the delivery truck fills up to deliver to the station and therefore there is a larger chance of a screw up. Pipe lines

That is why I run the TW3 2 Cycle oil. 1 quart to 26 - 29 gal fill up. I can also notice that the engine is a bit quieter with the oil added.

For those the have been using additives, hopefully the one you are using is not near the bottom of this list and removing Lubricity! There are some big name products low on the list!

There was an article on this subject that was submitted on the website back in 2008 if any of you are interested you can go back and look at it.

At 52K I added a new injection pump to the tune of $1100 with me doing the labor!!! That is nothing however to the cost of injectors in the mid 2000 GM's. Lots of people in our Arizona park having to do that to the tune of $4500. :((

OK! Do I understand that as long you fill with 10% Bio fuel you do not use additives. Because? (Too much of a good thing?) Zvonko

If you are using a B10 blend you do not need anything else
