I guess the only silver lining to Exxon making so much money is that they paid over $30 billion in taxes.

I'm afraid that silver lining is a bit tarnished. The taxes they pay are just a business expense and like all business expenses it get passed on to the consumer. So part of the cost for the fuel we pay is going to pay their taxes.

Today I was downtown Chicago , and Diesel was up to $ 4.29 @ gallon . I thought What the Heck !! Drove home and at a truck stop , Diesel it was $ 3.89 .
I'm very lucky that I drive a company truck durning the week , their gas .

Will the high costs effect our camping nope !!!! I guess when you get Older . Camping is one of the few vises left in life . I guess you just live with higher fuel costs or you quit camping ( Well that's not me ) . I guess I'll pay the high costs and do some more whinning .

Wayne, we fueled up when we left Ink's Lake Wednesday and stopped at Marble Falls and it was $3.19!!! Now that we are in Canton, it is $3.49. Man, looks like we are all gonna be broke before long. We might just stay down here till the price goes down.............. like THAT is gonna happen!!!!!! LOL!

Don't think the prices are going down any time soon. After Tyler, may as well follow me down to Rockport and hang around awhile.

Yeah, victory gards! Or is it Defeat Gardens.

As some politician said lately, we fought the war and China got the oil.

Tell me to quit whining, I just don't like politicians looking out for their own good.

The only way you can stop them from doing their own thing is to vote them out of office. Then it takes the new guy a few years to learn how to line his pockets to get re-elected.

Our Government and country runs by the Golden Rule.

Not to often but I have gone as high as B50. I use to run B20 all the time but now in Portland they require stations to run B5 soon to be B10 so it works for me.

Yep that is where it gets us, not just at the pumps But every thing we buy, that is why I say it is going to run us into the ground.
In 1987 I was making $10 an hr less then i am now, and at that time I had way more $$$$ every year we get a 3% increase in pay and the cost of living goes up 20% I think Im going backwards.
