Hitch height

Post by Grape Escape »

Going to install my hitch in the truck bed this weekend. Can anyone let me know what the floor to hitch head height is so that I can get it close to start. Towing 2008 30RKLE with a 2009 Ford F250 4x4 V10.
Anyone with similar setup that could measure for me would be greatly appreciated
It's been a slow process getting trailer first in November, then Reese signature 16K hitch in December and now the tow vehicle. Lucky we had lots of time but the itch is getting to me and it's time to get it home for some mods before we go on our maiden voyage in May.

I lowered my hitch in the truck, its got several bolt holes to lower or raise the trailer. When I towed it home I notice the trailer was not level. By lower the hitch one bolt hole with the trailer connected it looks pretty level. Im also below the 13"6 hieght to the top of my trailer. The small AM antenna exceeds the 13' 6"

My question is I have 7 inches of clearance between the top of my truck tail gate and the bottom of the trailer. Does this sound like enough clearance.

Hitch manual shows 6"minimum clearance so you should be good to go.

You should be just fine with 7" but no matter how much clearance you have keep your eye on it when coming out of driveway approaches and such.
