FIRESTONE AIR BAGS

Post by Firejab »

Just added firestone air bags to my 2006 F250, I am pulling my Cardinal 33SBLE this weekend for the first time with them and have been told to inflate the air bags between 20 and 30 psi. Anyone have experience with this or is this a trial and error kind of thing.
Thanks, Joe

When I had them on my Dodge I would put 30 lbs with out the trailer being on the truck so when I hooked up it would run around 55 lbs

Hi Joe, I have the Firestone air bags and I run around 35# with the trailer weight on the hitch.

I had them on my 2000 Dodge and I ran 26 lbs when towing the Cardinal and 12 lbs when not towing.

I use 30# and 70# in the TrailAir Hitch I have found that works well for me.

I think there is more weight in the back because of the rear kitchen.

I run about 65 PSI in the trail air. I'm impressed with the trail air, rarely do I need to add air.

We're using the Smartair self leveling air springs on the pick up and I'm not impressed. In a year and a half we are on our 3rd compressor. The batteries on the truck were dead the other day and I took it to the dealer. The problem wasn't the truck it was the Smartair. :(( Must be another bad compressor, wish I had put in the Firestones Air Bags. :-o
