Torben, IF I was a betting man, I'd say away from the Interstates, prices will be lower. IF I was a betting man. :joke:

Out here, if you fuel up along CA58 (Mojave) you'll pay around .10 more then I do in Rosamond, 12 miles south. Of course, unless people are going to Willow Springs Racetrack, they blow by Rosamond on the way to Mammoth. #:-s

Compared to last year when it was $4.89 in Battle Creek, those prices are a bargain, hope they stay that way when we leave next month.

I for one haven't forgotten 2008. $4.86 average a gallon for regular on our trip to Utah... When you look at GasBuddys.com, they also give you the year ago price.

This year compared to last year prices of diesel are a lot easier on the pocketbook! Last year when we were in Albuquerque for the Cardinal rally the prices had just started to come down and we paid $3.99 a gallon at the same Love's station that we paid $2.47 yesterday.

I use the bio-diesel which is about .02 cents higher than Flying J Ultra low sulpher diesel when ever I can get it. It is cheaper than using a lubricant additive but I haven't been able to find it as easily as I would like.

How many members around the country are using Bio-Diesel and how easy is it to find?

The state of Minnesota has mandated bio. I believe we're at 2% and will go to 5%.

when I bought my truck last year I was using a local Pilot station that had 10% bio-fuel, I used it a few times until after I was reading my diesel manual and it said only use up to 5% bio-fuel. So I stopped, have not seen any diesel around my area that offers 5% bio-fuel.

Does anybody know why Ford (I assume you're referring to your Ford/Navistar diesel) only recommends 5% bio-diesel?

My understanding is that bio-diesel is considerably better (cleaner and better lubrication) than dino-diesel and the only reason for not running 100% bio is the price.

How is the diesel availability along 97 while towing? We're planning a trip up to Everett, WA via 97 to Wenatchee and US2 over Stevens Pass. It surprised me when my trip planning software (Topo 7) came up showing this route only around 250 miles longer then a shot up I5.

It's the injectors. They are piezoelectric, not mechanical. LSD, over 5% bio-diesel, there goes the warranty. If they catch it. Which they will if they check the filters.
