Tires for my tow vehicle

Post by jjames1942 »

I'm needing to replace the tires on my truck. My choice so far is the Michelin LTX A/T2, LT265/70R17 121R LRE. Has anyone out there used these tires on their tow rig? If so, let me know what you think of these tires.

Thanks,

I went with the Goodyear WRANGLER SILENT ARMOR Tire - LT265/70R17 123R LR E OWL . The tires are very smooth on the road and make little noise. I'm leaving on the 7th for a two week trip to Winchester Bay, Oregon and then on to Crescent City to see the redwoods. I'm sure that they will tow just fine. Or by the way, they look great!

I got back home on Thursday, and the new tires worked great. They are great on the road, and very quiet. I would highly recommend these tires.

Sorrry I do not use those, For any truck that we plow with we use BFG all terrain T/A and for anything we like to travel on the highway with we use Firestone transforce HT......there are enough of us here though, somebody has to use em!

I run Michelin LT 265/70R16 M/S on the truck and the 5th wheel, very happy with them, and I would buy them again.

Nope- I just went outside and checked and they are 16. Maybe that is because I had them put the rims from old truck on the new one when I bought this one.

Mike,
I think you'll find that the Michelin LTX MSs don't come in a load range E in the 265 70R17 size, the only ones I been able to find are the LTX AS and the LTX AT2. The bling are ok but I sure prefer the MSs, don't know much about the AT2s since they are a new tread pattern.
