Air Lift Air Springs

Post by jjames1942 »

I'm thinking of putting Air lift air Springs (Super Duty Air Springs) on the rear of my truck. Camping World will install them for me. This is the brand that they stock. Has anyone out there used this brand? If so please let me know. I have a Dodge 2005 3500 1 ton 4X4 tow vehicle.
Thanks,

Jerry & Bonnie :D

I went with the Air Lift air springs. I had them installed on Wednesday. I'm thinking of putting 28 lbs of air in them and see how that works. If anyone has any suggestions of what PSI the air needs to be set, let me know.

We have Smartair, not what you're looking at, but just wanted to say we have the automatic leveling springs. If I was to do it again I would get the model that I just added air as I needed it. I'm riding a bit higher than I would like and I'm unable to adjust ours any lower.

We have gone through one compressor, but it was under warranty and our dealer replaced it.

I had the Airlift brand on my 2000 Dodge 2500 and they worked fine with one exception and it was a installation issue. I did not have the compressor unit installed (trying to save money) and the air pressure on the driver side would would leak down about every 10 days. It wound up being a very small pin hole in the air line which we only found by pumping the bags up to 110 psi.

I ran about 21 lbs psi when I was pulling the Cardinal and 8-10 psi when running empty. So I would recommend getting the compressor unit installed when you get them.

My wife and I are leaving Monday the 7th for a two week trip to Winchester Bay and then Crescent City California to see the Redwoods. When I get back, lets meet for breakfast or something like that.

I had Air Lift bags on my '99 Ford F-250. First trip out with the 5th Wheel was rough. I has 25# air in them. Turned out they were bottoming out because i had too little air in them. I pumped them up to 35# which worked much nicer for us. I ran them at 15# when empty and not towing. It did not raise the truck any at 15#. My '08 is an F-350, an no Air Lifts are needed.

I have a 09 Dodge 2500 CTD that I had the Timbren Rubber springs installed. No air to leak, they made a big difference in the ride. http://www.timbren.com/
I have a 2004 Cardinal 33CKT.

Up until I bought the 450, I had Firestone ride rites with the compressor. It was nice because each side could be adjusted individually. Also the air would not shift from one side to the other like air shocks. Always leave at least 5 psi in them when not towing

Have had Air Lift now for more than three years and about 60,000 miles and they are excellent. Do have the compressor which makes it easy. Run 15 psi empty and 45 psi with the 5W.
