Air compressor location

Post by WVcampers »

I just received the AIR LIft system for the TV. I was reading the installation instructions (it's too cold here to install so I had to do something) and it says not to install the compressor in the engine compartment, or where it is subject to the elements. OK, where do I put it ? Someone out there must have an onboard compressor. Where is it mounted?

I installed my on the engine compartment firewall on my old truck. My new truck has it factory mounted to the frame under the truck but I find the filter gets dirty under the truck from road dust / dirt.

I would mount it under the hood any place it can get air.

I mounted mine in my last 2 trucks under the rear seat. Not too hot and hardly any dust.

Hmmm,
Maybe they've changed the instruction sheet since I put mine in. I installed mine under the cab near the water separator. It's been in for 6 years now and still works fine.

Not the same system, but I moved my Air Compresser for my Air Horns, from the Cab (too noisey,) to under the hood, up by the firewall, on the drivers side. No issues so far.
