Well, I'm in a hotel room in Vegas, bored after driving all day in a Super Duty (work truck, not mine) SO I thought I'd toss more wood on this discussion:

In my e-mail this afternoon:

I'll be back after a $3.25 brew to see if I've started a Forest Fire! :ymdevil:

It's Fords tri-fuel F250. Hydrogen, gas, ethanol. May not ever come to fruition but I have read that a 2012 debut in some form may be possible.

its new technlogy, no seatbelts lookes better so when you get in you must be wearing "special clothes" with a high iron content so when the vehicle makes an abrupt stop the electromagnets within the seats hold you firmly in place.

This months Trailer Life has an article about the 2011 Super Duty. The reviewer had a F450 King Ranch with the 6.7 diesel, pulling a Montana 5er. Specs published with the article said 10 mpg towing, 16 mpg solo, and the DEF tank should last 7,500 miles between fill ups.

Ford is also offering the Reese Signature 5th wheel hitch as a factory option - and it's covered by the truck warranty.

He also remarked the 39', 12,900# Montana felt like a lightweight trailer behind the F450. \:D/

I was hoping for about 12 pulling and 20 empty. Those numbers don't sound like the 18% increase Ford promised.

That probably wouldn't be too much to hope for on the F350. The F450 being tested is quite a bit heavier.

Weight as tested: 8,840#

Not a lightweight, roughly 700 - 1,000# more then my F350, which has most of the heavier options. And about the same mpg towing. Better then what I get solo. 4:30 gears at 70 - 75 mph sure dosn't help my mpg though. ;)

Got to agree about pulling the trailer with mine. Turbo diesel's are nice to have.
