every time something goes wrong with my dads truck (94 f150 gasser by the way) he says" cant we just put a holley carb and a set of pionts back in the distributor?" ........and that truck is simple.......this new technology can be great but when it goes wrong its usually debilitating.

Can the Ford's phone home with sync and users cell phone similar to GM's Onstar? Is there someone at home at Ford to pull codes and talk to you about them and dispatch the hook if needed? I have used Onstar for info on check engine lights in our Buick Rainier a couple times.
