Time to change the signature...

Post by Joe Falco »

After beating up our 2003 Silverado gasser with the heavy Cardinal, we went on the hunt for a diesel 3/4 ton. While out shopping, we found a great deal on an 08 F350 dually. A bit more than we were looking for, but now have room to grow. The truck already has a gooseneck hitch, so a fiver can now be added to our future shopping list.

We loved our Silverado, but couldn't pass the deal on this one. Towed the Cardinal a couple of times already, and man, what a difference. It's actually comfortable to tow now!

It's very nice looking. If I ever get another truck I'm getting one with a two tone color scheme.

Joe,

Nice Truck! :thumbrt:

If it has the B&W goose neck hitch with the turnover ball, they ( B&W ) makes a Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch rated at 18,000 lbs that slides right into the receiver in the bed. I have had mine for four years and have been very satisfied with it.

I don't know how soon you will be looking for a fifth wheel? When you start looking for the hitch I bought mine at Tweety's which has free shipping but check with PPL as they are have specials but they charge for charge for shipping, but has no sales tax if shipped outside of Texas!

Welcome to the Powerstroke family. It definitely makes towing a heavy trailer more enjoyable when your tow vehicle is up to the task. Congratulations on your purchase.

Oh yeah it can pull! I had a dump trailer on the ball loaded to at least 10k a week or so ago. Started out easy at a light, got things moving, a bit more throttle, the tranny shifted and the turbo's kicked in. Truck said "GO", trailer said "NO", duallys went "BURN OUT".

Whoops, not a 5er with 2200# on the hitch... :-o :))
