After looking at the GVWR rating of the new Cardinals, a Tow Boss F350 or F450 would be a baseline truck, for the small ones.

Talk about limiting your customer base.

Diann & I went to the Fall Camper Show (LOOKING ONLY). There was 1 Blue Ridge 29RKL and no Cardinals.

Umm why does it have to be a tow boss there are other trucks besides a ford I have a new trailer and it tows just fine behind my Chevy :thumbrt: :D
Now I will say when looking at FR stats something does not add up here is my tag with my empty weight from the factory plus you do the math if there is a 77 gallon fresh water tank at 8.33 lbs per gal. then I lost 145 lbs of cargo weight.

Using the Fords as an example. After all these years I like to have some reserve left over when loading or towing. Too much truck is just enough truck for me. :)

Is it possible to put an exhaust brake on our 2008 Chevy?

Yes I think it is possible Jim, I spoke to pac-brake when I had the 07 Chev and they said yes. Requires cutting and welding into exhaust by a muffler shop but it is possible.

I’ve been looking into having the Banks Control Exhaust Brake system installed on our 2008 Chevy. We will be in California next winter and could have it installed right at the Banks manufacturer location. Has anyone had any experience with this system?

I put a Banks exhaust brake on my Dodge last summer and gave it a good test this summer with the Yellowstone/Glacier trip. I really liked the way it performed. If your '08 has the variable vane turbo then Banks has a system for it that is similar to the ones that GM and Ford are putting on the '11 models, in fact Banks claims theirs works as well or better than the factory units. Good luck in your search.

Jim, When you go to Banks Eng. in Irwindale/Azusa leave your trailer someplace else. They are on a dead end street, that gets crowded with motorhomes, in an industrial area, and no good parking. Just to turn around in a pickup takes some manuevering. I do not have any experience with their exhaust brakes.

We're going to be staying in Hemet, CA for several weeks this winter. I plan to leave the trailer their and drive to Banks. They tell me they open at 6:00 am and they would have it done in one day, if I make an appointment.
