Thanks everyone for your quick responses. We have alot to think about. We really like our truck and at this time we are more then likely going to keep it. Who knowa, like Bruce said we could get a new one and have problems. There are no garuntee's in life, right. Thanks again. This is a great club with lot's of great people.

You have one of the better 6.0. The 03 and 04 models were the ones with the most problems. They made a lot of changes and most say that the 06 is pretty reliable. I would keep it as long as you are not having problems. You will know when to get rid of it. The 04 that I had is still my all time favorite truck, but after being left stranded while towing the camper 3 seperate times, I did not feel good about our "next trip", so I traded it for a Dodge. If you are committed to Ford, I would try to hold off getting another one until the new one has proved itself. It is only on it's second year, that is why I went with Dodge.

As said above, By 06 they had most of the bugs worked out. atleast with the injectors and wires the early issues in the 03 04 was injectors and wire chafeing. If you are going to keep it I would get a edge insite and watch your coolent temp and oil temp. By doing that you will see if the oil cooler is getting pluged. if it is getting pluged the oil temp will get to be 15* + hotter then the coolent temp. when the oil cooler gets pluged up it restricks the flow of coolent to the EGR cooler and then the hot exh. killes the EGR cooler. I dont know how Bud runs it But The 6.0 does want to work. Babby it will not help the turbo. The centen boost will not hurt it but that is not what did the turbo in. The turbos have been a issue for a long time and it was in 07 that they added a grove inside to help with the ring sticking that they had so may issues with. all and all If it has had only that one issue with the turbo then it sounds like a good one (a keeper) and if you do have any problems after the warranty is out Please Let me know as I can help you save money on any repairs.
PS: I would not chip a 6.0 unlless you have done the head gaskets and Head studs.

No new pics Mike. The weather in that area and power outages shut down the shop last week. I am not sure if he will send many more with his secret mods going into it. Just over 3 weeks until I travel back to the states, and if not finished I will be tempted to go for a look see anyhow. Tired of waiting & want to learn how to drive that big ole thang!

You can handle it, Bruce, now worries! As for WEATHER- we are stuck in Tom Sawyer with 2 inches of 'snow showers'... now, for US northerners, that would be no problem, but for these folks down here, most don't know how to drive in it -and think they need to go 75 on the interstate, just because the SPEED LIMIT is 75.... We have been through that wole thing a few years ago across 40, so we are just relaxing and watching the ol COLD mississip flow on by, and the barges chug.....up and down, up and down.. Sure hoping we get to bring warm weather back to YOUR home state tomorrow!

You best hurry! The next front is due here tomorrow about noon and will be to the east side of the state by Wednesday. Supposed to be cold through Thursday and then start to warm up on Friday with highs in the 60s by Saturday.
Travel safe.

We are only going as far as Atlanta S.P. tomorrow (just south of Texarkana) so should be there about 1:00 or so. Then we will hunker down for a few days in our FAVORITE park! Sleep late, have home made beef stew, and other things I have made up ahead, and maybe cook out a couple of steaks on the weekend when it warms up! thanks for the Well wishes! Take care! Donna

Well the builder had me in a pact of secrecy, but finally released spy photos on another website today so here are some in progress pics. Keep in mind that storage boxes have not been cut in and mounted, exhaust not yet turned to horizontal, rear alloy wheels not on, and the welding not finished when these were taken. It is further along now and headed to the sand blaster prior to paint. Note that it has an air operated tilt bed to get the car to roll off against a reversible winch, idea is to get it where one person can load & unload the car. :ymcowboy: The gentle Giant is coming to life. :d

This is going to be one awsome rig! Thanks for the progress updates. Having been a gear-head in the past, I like seeing how things are built.
