When going to Yellowstone I did not see any Fords passing Mike up, can we called that test Rumble to Yellowstone.
I have not used any other factory installed exhaust brakes using the turbo vanes but I do know that I hardly need to use the brake pedal when coming down any hill.
It is the best safety option you will ever purchase.

Heh Ford , what's up with this picture?? :-w

That is an eye opener. Especially having driven that route a couple of times.

I guess I should give the Chevy a look over. :-ss

I knew what this would be by the poster and title before I even read it, I would really like to see dyno tests on both rigs before and after the test, the numbers are too different to believe the advertised tq and hp ratings of either. I gotta say I dig the exhaust brake setup on the GM :thumbrt: Nice attempt for a new configuration out the box from FORD but something isn't working as it should, as "equally" matched as these were there is no excuse to get spanked so bad :ymhug:

John, I do not think you could buy a Chevy working for Ford.

Ford owners like to be spanked =)) =)) =))

Retired from Ford in March of 2007. I know it would be a tough decision as I still bleed blue. :D

Now matt if ford would have won you would not even ask for a dyno sheet. Like I said even if ford would have won I just thought it was an interesting real world test.

I may be a FORD guy but I am a fairs fair guy and if FORD had less advertized HP and TQ and spanked the GM I would indeed like to see Dyno sheets, I have taken all kinds of Physics and engineering and like the WHY. its simple, and I don't want proof the chevy is not lying, I would like to see a reason for HUGE difference. the math don't lie, the GM obviously out muscled the Ford but the propaganda says otherwise, what I would like to see is where that power is. You have to admit that if the Ford truly has more power over the usable range the results would be reversed. And to reverse the curse, if the Ford won you would never had posted that link! Maybe not because you would have beat me to it, like I said no truck wars and I REALLY dont care who won, if you remember since you are young and can still do so I owned 5 Dodge CTD and you dont see me crying foul on that. In fact I owned a Ford pickup for 10 years so dont even go there. Now lets keep it to what it is an interesting test. :ymhug:

The test is the test, I don't think anyone of us would drive their truck flat out pedal to the metal, both made it to the top and more than once. I would like to know how much fuel they burned doing it. I bet the mpg was about 3 or 4.

Would be interesting to see the same test in 80 degrees temps. The outcome may not change but would liketo see how each handled the heat that WE drive in.

The article did mention when the outside temp got to 35 degrees the fans did come on in both trucks.

I missed the magazine in the store, but still have the one with the original tests. Compared to my rig it seems Ford took a step back for engine braking effectiveness with the new engine and transmission. Of course I'm not running 3:73 gears either, rather 4:30.

I can answer the fan in the heat on the way to yellowstone we had several passes and it was in the 90's. My fan came on two times for the whole trip.
