Dealer I took it to in Rapid City which is a large dealer told me no fix for it good luck getting home. Was on the phone with GM customer service which is another story. My gm of service in Oregon was on the phone with GM engineers all day and the dealership I went to who basically told him even though he has been in the business for 30 years he did not understand how the system worked. Anyway back to the fix I will be taking the truck to Spearfish at 9:00am Friday and they will check it while I wait then let me know if getting the parts needed is going to run into next week. It appears that either my urea tank has a crack in it or the pump is bad in both cases a new tank will be needed. I will not pressure up the system and that is what is throwing all the codes. So this will be a new adventure and if needed I will limp it home clearing codes every 20 miles or so, so it won't go into limp mode. This process would not be so bad if I had phone and internet service, we have to drive up the road and park to get a signal and get things taken care of. By the way my service manager in Oregon has been the life saver on this he got me the appointment in Spearfish and said if any parts are needed and they don't have them he will send them overnight. You can't ask for more then that.. :thumbrt:

If anybody needs to know the sights to see in the industrial part of Rapid City talk to me =))

I feel for you Mike. Sounds so similar to us last year. Relax, it's just time and money. Never enough of either. Keep your expectations low and people will strive to meet them. Keep them high and you will only grow despondent or postal.

Dude that is horrible and a little unexpected from a GM dealership. They are getting as bad and chrysler. Hope they get you fixed soone. Yet another region I won't buy a new truck. A stupid emission compoent fails and it strands you. They should have just turned if off in the ECM so you could get home. I think the new version of EFI live can do that for you for future reference. Don't have to run any extra power but at least you could get home to a dealer with a clue.

Truck is fixed we went to Spearfish today to Queen Chevrolet great dealership. It took from 9:00am to 4:30pm but that included them going 180 miles to get the part. It turned out to be the urea pump was bad and of coarse you can not service the pump you need to by a whole new urea tank. We made the best out of the day started off I got to talking to a rancher that was getting his truck fixed and it was going to cost him 1k to get it fixed. So I told him lets go buy a new truck and helped him strike up a deal. rofl he drove off in a new 2011 Silverado. So after having fun spending his money Susanna and I rented a car and toured around Spearfish Canyon and the surrounding area so the day still turned out to be great.

Glad you're all fixed Mike. Too bad the first dealer's service was "sub par", but you run into that no matter what brand you buy. I've found I can expect better service (and deals) from the small, privately owned dealers who have been around for years vs the large corporate owned ones. Not all the time, but as a rule, yes.

Mike, Why did you have to rent a vehicle, shouldn't the dealer have provided you with a loaner since it was going to take all day?

In this part of the country if you do not buy from them you are on your own. PLUS since Sturges is about to start the car rental companies are charging 400.00 per day. Im crossing my fingers the rest of the trip goes well and it will be trouble free, I have 150 miles on it now and all seems to be well again. We are off to Cheyenne Wy for two days then slowly start heading home.
