I'll be one of the Ram guys to speak up. I don't have all the fancy computer readouts in my 05 but running empty I get 20-22 MPG. With the Bird attached on I-5 between Sacto. and Redding 14.2 mpg. When we hit the mountains it drops to the 10-11mpg range. When I'm running empty I'm usually around 65 mph. When towing the cruise is set at 62 mph...seems to be the sweet spot, 6th gear at 1800 rpms.

My 06 Dodge 3500 with the auto transmission doesn't get quite the milage Kevin does. I get 17.9 empty driving about 62-65 mph and average 10.7 towing at 62 mph.

My computer display did show 24 mpg towing the trailer from Williams Arizona to Seligman Arizona last summer :d of course it was downhill all the way =))

With the wind behind you too would be my guess! That is sweet mileage for a dually!

Mike, I think you asked to see the instantaneous mileage display. In this mode there is a single vertical bar showing your mileage at that point in time. The white box shows the average since it was last reset by holding down the OK button on the steering wheel. In this case it was reset when I got fuel about a week ago. The white line to the left of box points to that mileage point on the graph.

In this picture I'm getting 21.1 after about 1/4 a tank while not towing the trailer.

So Rob! If you move the shifter from the yellow D to the white M, you are in the "manly" gear? =)) =)) =))

Not that I'm aware of Kevin.

It does show engine oil temperature which I thought was unusual.

I continue to be satisfied with the MPG of this truck. I've made two runs without the 'Bird to Las Vegas since Christmas, the last at 75 mph, for a total of appx 1000 miles, averaging 15.9 mpg over the mountains with some looong, steep grades. Overall mileage since new is 14.4 including towing the 'Bird. Since I took delivery I've seen two active regens and haven't needed to add any DEF, in fact the truck manual says I shouldn't need to add DEF until 5,000 to 7,000 miles the way I'm operating the truck currently. Total miles is now 2560 or so.

Not bad for a 9000# dually. :)

Sorry about no photo's of the instruments, but my new smart phone is a bit of a handful to be taking decent pictures while driving.
