You either missed a regen or you are doing great getting 1,280 miles between them. Your overall mileage is the same as mine so looks like Ford and GM are doing good there. I am at 25k miles now and 1 1/2 years into this truck and with the exception of the urea pump going bad it is performing well and is still fun to drive. We shall see how it holds up this year with over 8,000 miles of towing planned. Heck as far as that goes will see how the trailer holds up. :-ss May come home with a Ford and a sob =))

Have you checked you INFORMATION screen Jeff? A few weeks ago while driving the to the coast without the trailer I decided to check the INFORMATION screen and found the DEF with a message that it was less than half full. On the way home I stopped at a Ford dealer and picked up a 2.5 gallon jug. When I got home the truck took just a little less than the 2.5 gallons and at the time I had about 2500 miles on the truck. I was surprised I hadn't seen a pop-up message but maybe it just hadn't happen yet.

LOL, that's my biggest concern with our month plus long trip coming up in April with a 6+ year old trailer.

I tell you Rob I would feel more comfortable with my 06 I think. It was like a tank while this one seems to be more of a princess. #-o

I have to admit Mike that the trailer has been pretty reliable.

Thanks for the tip Rob, the info screen said less then 1/2, but hadn't gotten a flash saying anything about the DEF level. I need to check the manual, but I recall something about an advisory when it gets to 800 miles left till empty. I just put in 2.5 gallons @ 2650 miles, I don't think I could have put in any more then that though.

I think you're right Jeff and I just may wait until I get the 800 mile warning before refilling. I don't think you could have put any more in either. Mine took just a little less than the 2.5 gallons and I had few hundred miles less than you.

On the run over Tehachapi and Altamont Passes to Pleasanton, CA the '12 Bubba got 11 mpg pulling the 'Bird. Most of the way north on I5 I used cruse control and experimented with locking out 6th gear to run at 2000 RPM, but I didn't see any increase in MPG. I maintained 63 mph and had a fairly steady 15-20 mph head wind for most of the trip up the valley.

This is the best MPG I've ever had pulling the 'Bird. Also, the leather seats are sooo nice!

That sounds about right for me too Jeff. I got 13.0 back and forth to the coast but I didn't have any passes to go over just some some coastal hills.

With calm winds yesterday Bubba got 12 mpg towing until the climb from 300' to 4200' going east over Tehachapi Pass. Overall mileage for the trip, 740 miles of towing, around 250 miles of freeway or city driving around the East Bay and San Francisco was 11 mpg.

Whoa, you put on a lot more miles than I did. I may have put 300 miles on the truck.

It's easy to run up miles here. Kern County where we reside is larger then Connecticut. We're in the southeast corner, to get to the northwest corner takes two hours. About the same as heading to Oxnard and the beaches! Love having the 50 extra gallons of fuel, too. Some of the stations we passed by were charging $4.54 a gallon, I paid almost $.60 less a gallon then that when I filled up, and topped off in Livermore at the Safeway. :D
