Rob,

I had the sun in the face by the time we got home, and I've never been able to see ALL the gauges with sunglasses on and the sun in my face before! But it's still NOT good for taking pictures. VERY soon! :d :))

Funny you should mention that Jeff. We left last Thursday afternoon for the coast and had the sun in our faces. I was surprised how well I could see all the gauges and LCD screen with the sunglasses on. :d

Chris,
I just might have to learn NOT to stomp on the loud pedal merging into traffic with the 'Bird back there, could end up with everything in the living room! =)) =)) =))
And, just a coincidence, when you convert 6.7 liters to cubic inches what's the answer? 409! :))

Just happens I know someone who is a WIZ with Photoshop! :ymdevil: I took the 409 from the Ford literature, but 406.69 - close enough! :thumbrt:

Joking aside, minus the Tow Boss axles, and with a lighter engine, this Bubba, according to the label is around 7100# without the aux tank. After I get the tank installed next week, and filled up, I'll run across the scales to compare with the '09. But kids, this dually HAULS ASHES! I now understand why all you guys who have 6.7 Fords are grinning! Not that the 6.4 was a slouch. On the way back from Salt Lake City last month, going up the 6400' passes, using cruise control, there was one Dodge with a similar size 5er going 75 vs my 65 at the bottom of the grade. His front bumper never got past my door, at the top he was at least 3/4 a mile behind me, and falling back. Then a Chevy tried, same result. I just kept up the hill at 65, and down the hill at 67, on cruise control. Can't wait to make the run with this rig! B-)

There is also the volume of the big cavity in the top of the piston to factor in for the 6.7.

Truth Mike. Possibly something to do with the two turbo's the 6.4 has (and 4:30 gears on a Tow Boss). And converting Ford's 6.7 liters which most likely takes in the volume of the depressed top of the pistons, not just the bore and stroke, is where Ford came up with 409 ci (rounded up).

It is really not 6.7 l, bore and stroke compute to 6.55799 L.

I have only read about one piston failure!!!!! Or is that cavity?? =)) =)) =))

The "cavity" in the top of the piston does not effect displacement. It is there at the bottom of the stroke and it is there in the same position at the top of stroke. Volume above the piston at the top of the stroke determines compression radio, and does not effect displacement. Displacement is the volume that charges at the piston goes from its full down position to its full up position, also referred to as swept volume.
or this formula
CID-Number of cylinders x0.7854xBore2x stroke

Liquid volume. Air/fuel is liquid. So the depressed piston top is part of the displacement. It effectively increases the stroke.
Compression ratio is something else.
