Our dually is our only wheels right now. From experience, backing in vs pulling in, by backing in you'll be able to get into and out of parking spaces easier. I've even squeezed Bubba into a Compact space a time or two. Having the backup camera is a Great aid in tight quarters when there is a car, tree, light pole, etc behind you! And, anytime I can, I look for a parking space I can pull through to park, and avoid backing up at all. In fact, my employer has all this (except the camera, instead we're supposed to have a spotter) as a mandatory policy with company vehicles that have restricted vision to the rear. Since they started that, parking lot accidents have dropped like a rock off a cliff.Traveler II wrote:I know that a dually is the best for hauling our rigs around. In Texas, the parking lot strips are dually friendly. Otherwise, I look for pull thru's or park and walk. A little exercise doesn't hurt. Sometimes, If the parking lot has a narrow drive lane between the rows, I'll park in the middle of 4 spots. Sure makes it easier to swing out.
The Ford SRW is taller than the DRW and not sure why? I've had a couple of 4x2 duallies and they did OK. Now that I pull a boat in the winter, 4x4 is mandatory.

For quite some time the difference between the F250 and F350 SRW suspension has been a 2" spacer block on the rear axle of the F250, and a 4" spacer block on the rear axle of the F350. When I pulled the 'Bird with a 2005 F250 it squatted alot with the 'Birds 2600# hitch weight, with the 4" spacer I think it would have been almost level. With the V10 that truck would pass everything but a gas station, and here in the Southwest, I didn't like that at all. Some of the gas stations I pulled into with the 'Bird were, and still are, not Big Rig Friendly, but I had no choice, I couldn't make the next one.

I am thinking that the extra height is because the SRW would be more likely to be used off road than the DRW would.
