New Tires

Post by Mike Clay »

Well I have been looking to get new tires after Jackson this coming year. The Goodyears that came with my truck are holding up pretty well but would have needed to be replaced this coming year. Since I have 18" tires I really do not have many to choose from like two Goodyear or Michelin. The Michelins are going for around $1,100 not counting mounting and balancing. Was at the dealer a couple weeks ago to get a recall checked and they had a brand new set of take offs, they had about 25 miles on them. After a week of negotiation =)) I purchased the tires yesterday with an out the door price of $675.00 :d

Mike keep us posted on how you like the Michelins on your truck. I replaced our with Good Years, I had Michelins in the past and like them.

Merry Christmas.

Pretty good price. :thumbrt:
I like my Michelins for wear. They ride harder than Goodyears.

Really, I thought coming back down the mountain yesterday that it rode better but time will tell since hard to tell in 30 miles. But I do have my pressure down to 65 lbs front and back right now

LOL, speaking of Michelins it just occured to me that all my tires are now Michelins. A few years ago I put Michelins on the trailer, our Fusion Hybrid and the F350 came with Michelins so now we're 100% Michelins. I should start getting a discount! :d

No I did not need new tires but I would have by mid summer and with the deal that I got I just moved on it earlier then I thought. My 08 came with Bridgstones and they were great got over 40k on those. These Goodyears would have made it another 6k but definitely not as good as the 08 tires were.

Wow Mike, those Stock tires must have been very soft tread compound........did it stick like glue on curves :d for them to be ready to be replaced this summer .

Sounds like a Great Price though :thumbrt:

Just bought Michelins at America's Tire store. Out the door for $1050.00 and they have a $60.00 rebate on a purchase of 4. I got 63,000 on the original set of Michelins and still had plenty of tread on them but they were getting up in age. (DOT- 4004) Most of the miles have been pulling the RV but I was also religious about rotating them.
