Are there any sales figures out there relevant to the 250s 2500s or 350s 3500s that we use. I think it is great that all sales are up. Let the competition among brands continue because in the end we will win.

but...in the relm of the haulers.......Just the FORD 7.3 diesel......there are still more ON the road than Chevy, GMC and Dodge diesels combined.....but like most have said

SALES ARE UP ALL ACROSS THE BOARD and thats all that matters, its good for everybody, for me its great because there will be more used trucks to look at when im in the market again

I do believe that without the government contracts and municipal fleets that the FORD numbers would be way down

Just for fun, a question for everyone. Have you owned and towed with a truck from each of the big 3 or are you dedicated to one of them?

Just wanted to ask because I have owned and towed with all 3, and they were all diesels. I have to say that I never had any mechanical issues with the Duramax or Cummins. I have had three 7.3 Fords and one 6.0 Ford. The 6.0 is the only Ford that had engine problems. With that said I still prefer the Ford as you can tell. I am glad to see that they are all doing well. I for one thought that Ford may not recover from the 6.0, but it looks like they have.

I have only towed fifth wheels with 2 different Dodges but have owned all three brands. My dream tow vehicle would be the Cummins engine with a allison transmission and GM dually rear end and a Ford body.

I've had several Ford pick-ups and a Chevy but never towed campers with them. This has been many years ago and my price range for used trucks didn't allow consideration of Doges because of rusting. As has been said before it comes down to personal preferences on what you buy. I bought a new Chevy before the one I have now because the crew cab back seats would fold up and make a totally flat area back there for our Dalmatian. We liked that feature enough that we stayed with it even though we didn't have a dog when we got our current GMC. It works out real well for Roxie now. This is my first diesel.

Same here and have towed with them all. Toyota towed a tent trailer and it was a great truck, Fords towed anything from motorcycle trailers in the old days to a travel trailer in 85. The GMC and 85 Ford were the worst trucks I ever owned. Then went to Dodge in 1994 which was my first diesel, owned 5 of them until Susanna said no more stick shifts so in 2008 I bought the first Chevy then the 2011 which so far is the best truck I have ever owned. Kind of funny as we talk about trucks and such I always said there was two things that I would never own, "a mac computer and a Duramax" Well now I own both and love them, guess the saying "never say never" is true. Down the road if Ford has a better truck (in my eyes) when its time to buy I would take a close look at them.

I like that idea, My 2011 Ford with a Cummins would be the "ultimate" :thumbrt:

When you get right down to it, most of us don't buy a truck because of the engine. It is because of othe features that we like or have become used to. It sure is a fun topic though.
