That sounded a little strange. So I googled and found this:

Read the bottom to FAQ in this one below. Seems that Ford and Chevy should have installed the magnets in the DEF fill neck! Installing an aftermarket MFPD seems like a solution. HOWEVER, would that then make it hard to use the jugs from time to time??? Maybe buying the MFPD and just temp issue on the nozzle is the solution.

WalMart is selling 2.5 gals. DEF for $11.32 in Brockport N.Y.

Somewhere while driving through Minnesota I got the 800 MILES TO EMPTY message again. Long story short I put off getting DEF until I got to the 451 MILES TO EMPTY. It took just under 5 gallons to get the OK message again.

How many miles per tank are you getting Rob? Seems like you already put a couple gallons in on this trip.

I don't know the DEF level when I left home. I put in one 2.5 gallon jug while visiting St Louis then a little less the 5 gallons yesterday. It was well over 2000 miles since the first 2.5 gallon jug. and that didn't fill it up, before I got the 800 mile message again. So far we've put 5886 miles on the truck this trip.
