I am brand new to this forum. Can you explain how I make a new post of my own, I cannot figure it out?

Got stuck a couple of times by big rigs in the hammer lane on 6% uphill grades, when they got out of the way Bubba just ran away up the hill. And my worse MPG of the trip, 11.2.

The 6.7 is a torque monster. Has a much better cooling system then my 6.4 350 dually had. The fan only occasionally goes into high, much less then the 6.4, tranny temps stay in the middle of the gauge. Put it in Tow/Haul and go! :D

It is amazing how consistent the transmission temperature is even when you monitor the digital temperature on the information screen.

Bill, my 2012 F350 is a short bed with SRW. It has the 3.55 rear end. I had zero problems on the tow or with heating. I talked to a number of new F350 owners and they said the difference between a 3.31 and 3.55 rear end is minimal and would probably not be felt on the worst of pulls. Wolf Creek is considered one of the very worst pulls and the 3.55 worked as well as the 4.12 rear end on my Cummins.

As for the 3.31, they did tell me that if I am going to do off roading it is important to avoid the straight rear axle and go with the variable rear end.

Sorry, meant to say avoid the non limited slip axle but rather make sure you have the electronic locking limited slip axle for offroad or dry camping. BTW, the 3.31 axle is supposed to give you a touch better MPG so if you are doing a lot more street driving than pulling or your pulling then the 3.31 is a really good differential.

Have you used it to tow the bird yet? What model of cardinal do you have? I am curious because I have the exact same truck right on down to the same color. The only regret I may have is that I have the 3.31 axle ratio which worries me. Waiting for pick up of my new bird model 3450RL. Hope I can pull it easily.

Bill I have a 35SBQLE and it pulls the bird with total ease, you will be more than pleased with the way the truck handles your rig. I have been so busy lately that I haven't even had a chance to drive mine since we returned from the trip out west.

Congrats on the new truck. Glad your happy with it. I need to quit reading threads like this, or I might start dropping by dealerships.

Congrats too on owning those super classic Mustangs. Maybe you can find a 429 to add to the stable.

I like old cars. I have a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS with a 340 ci engine that I bought new and have kept as a garage queen all these years.

A Boss 429 is my dream car but, I'll never be able to afford one. I love Mopars they're great, I also had a 340 Dart when I was a teenager and wish I would have been smart like you and held onto it. Don't take that 6.7 test drive unless you plan on pulling the trigger.

funny thing is your truck is probably just as quick as the car was back then.

Here is always one we should have kept like Bill did.
1967 SS350(295HP 10.25 or.5 compression ratio) with Bose 8 track sound system, rally hood and headlights. Muncie 4 speed wide ratio with long legs (3.23). Emblems removed.
