Got almost 600 miles on the new truck, so far fuel mileage is reasonable for driving around town. The ride is certainly rougher than my Dodge.

Bill You are getting enough miles on the truck to start pulling the trailer pretty soon!

Pulled the bird to the dealer for some plumbing repairs (about 3 miles), hope to have it back so we can take it to our sons after Christmas. I'm anxious to see how this truck pulls the trailer on the highway.
My wife ask when I'm going to get a grill guard put on it, she says that would make a nice Christmas present. Since we go into "deer country" to see the son I think she's right so...

Bill, I hate to disappoint you but when you pull the trailer with the new F350, you will totally forget you have a trailer behind you. You will start day dreaming, singing with the radio and then when you least can afford it you will get a speeding ticket for pulling above the legal tow speed. The old excuse of "Gee officer, I forgot I had a trailer behind me" will probably not work. It sucks owning a 2012 Ford SuperDuty :) :))

From personal experience running up and down I5 in California's Central Valley it's very easy to find yourself running at 70 - 75. The Cruise Control is your friend!

And the engine brake works very well going downgrade in the mountains to boot!

I always run on cruise, My foot gets heavy and my speed varies too muck not to. I've been considering getting a decal made for the back of the trailer that says " I drive 65" so those with lead feet will just go ahead and pass me rather than trying to push me by tailgating.
