Catalytic Converter-Branson Rally
On the way to the Branson Rally my catalytic converter went out (extreme loss of power).
Had it replaced under warranty
Prior to the replacement I was averaging 8 mpg (V10) and on the trip home traveling through NC, VA, WV my miliage increased to 8.7. My guess is the converter was faulty from the factory. Truck has 44K on it.

Glad you were able to get it replaced. Every little bit helps in the MPG catagory.

Re: Catalytic Converter-Branson Rally
Glad you got it sorted out. Lots of people have no idea that there is a federal regulation that is different then your warrantee from the Manufacturer. It has specifics to what is warranted and for how long, for instance emissions related components (certain ones) are covered for 80k and some over. I forwarded the info to a friend who was having the dealership tell her she had to pay 1250 bucks for catalytic converters since her 3/36 warranty was up. After she came in educated with the paperwork they sang a different tune and payed for her repairs.

Re: Catalytic Converter-Branson Rally
Once I got to 60k, I took mine off. Increase in mpg and decrease in turbo temp under load.
Glad you got a chance to get it fixed locally.

Re: Catalytic Converter-Branson Rally
Dennis I am sure Ann is finding riding in it is more comfortable than the seat in the Dodge. That is the one thing I hear every trip from Martha "The seats in this Dodge are so uncomfortable!"

There a solution to that statement.Don Wilson wrote:Dennis I am sure Ann is finding riding in it is more comfortable than the seat in the Dodge. That is the one thing I hear every trip from Martha "The seats in this Dodge are so uncomfortable!"

Re: Catalytic Converter-Branson Rally
I tried that approach but she wants her house in New Mexico first and will settle for the uncomfortable seats rather than getting a new Tow vehicle.Travelers wrote:There a solution to that statement.Don Wilson wrote:Dennis I am sure Ann is finding riding in it is more comfortable than the seat in the Dodge.
