Radiator Shot

Post by teallen »

Cannot believe I have to replace my radiator on a vehicle that is not even 5 years old yet, $1600. There goes my diesel fuel money for Az.

So sorry to hear about that unexpected expense. What I want to know is why, what happened to make you have to replace it... That's crazy

John, my thoughts exactly, I never had a rad go out on me. Unfortunately , my 75000 warranty expired 8 000 miles ago. I guess if I did not go on so many trips this past 3 years I would have still been under 75000. :(

LOL :)) I know that feeling Tom!!

Were you able to recore the radiator or was the tank leaking?

sounds all too familiar! One of our suppliers had this happen to 2 of his trucks after the warranty but made a stink and got it covered. It is well documented that the Job one radiators were eaten like cheezeburgers! There is a "fix" that involves a venturi "t". Do a little reaserch, i remember there even being a recall. here is some info

Thanks, went back in my records and that recall was performed on my truck right after I bought it. Still wondering if that really solved the problem. Will give Ford a call.

seems radiators built before a certain date had problems with crimping on the tanks also. From our experience after the venturi t and radiator change you should be good for the long haul
