Here are the codes for the GMC gear ratio. I know in the older models it can be found in the glove box. I'm not sure if the newer trucks are the same.

GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- AXLE REAR, HD locking differential

rich, have you monitored the fuel pressure? We take note every fall during the plow truck extravaganza. The blue spring kit will only work if there is enough coming from the primary pump/tank/lines/filters to get the good pressure. Most of our now 11 6.0 trucks started around 47 to 52 psi and got to about 60 -65 psi with the kits. We had one only go to 50 from 48, come to find out there was "shmotz" on the pickup and in the HFCM and after extensive cleaning ond a year of running it alot we are at 63 all the time with that one. That truck needed 5 injectors when we got it, 3 more 6 months later and 7 more during the insanity of the 2010 winter. That spring we had enough of FORD replacing injectors without finding the root cause and I schooled myself on the 6.0 and now we have a great trouble free fleet most of which we picked up around 95000 miles and cheap because so many people jump ship at the 100k warranty.

Whatever happens, good luck and hopefully we will camp together this year

Matt, I've been wanting to put a fuel PSI guage in for some time. The guy I'm sending the truck to said he thinks after all I have done that it is most likely a fuel PSI issue. I did finally put the new bed on this week LOL. It sat in one place too long so, got it done. We need to get together this Summer for sure!!

I have the new F450 6.7 diesel, traded my 05 for it. I've had a F350 V10, 350 6.0 and now the new one. Never had the injector issue with the old international diesel 6.0. My son has the 250 6.0 diesel, over 100k no problems either, you wont believe the 6.7 is a diesel, since ford started mfg them, they are so quiet, really sweet ride :d

I traded up from my 2006 6.0 to the new 6.7 also and I never had any issues either with my 6.0. I really do like this new rig they just keep getting better and more complicated.

I want to thak everyone for their help and advise. I'm having my truck fixed this week. I do like the 6.7s but, they are priced out of my range at this time. I do not want to have a new truck and give up all the options I want just to have a new truck. The shop that has my truck is one of the best in our area. They know more than me so I'm sure they will find why this truck likes to eat injectors. I like to do my own work and service but, I don't get paid to work on my stuff.

Got my truck back today. Found a loose inector, low fuel PSI was at 45 idle, dropped to 35 at 50 mph.
installed a hi PSI regulator spring. Now has 68 at idle and 59 at 50. Runs better than it has in a long time! :)
