I agree with that statement Rob I never look at it on my console. I just keep an eye on the fuel gauge!

I have a question for you Trax ll owners. Do they have a replaceable fuel filter in them?
Also I have a quote for $1405 installed for a 75 gal. Does this sound like a good price?

Yup price is right or close to it since different areas charge different prices. And yes they have there own filter in the in bed tanks.

The DTE is never accurate or even close. I can change it from towing to not towing and sometimes it is less for not towing. I don't know what kind of math this thing uses, but it is not the same kind that I was taught in school

I don't count on the MTE for anything but being a interesting bit of information. It sure was nice over the Thanksgiving weekend to drive from here to Amarillo, spend the whole weekend driving around up there and then drive home and still have 40 gallons of fuel left, especially since it was about $0.25 to $0.30 higher up there than it is here. You might want to reconsider getting one of these tanks Rob.

Same here Bill, drove from Bakersfield to Tucson and still had plenty of fuel left.

I took the DTE bet with 40 miles extra showing to my destination. Darn near run out of fuel and had to stop 15 miles short. I could do with the larger OEM replacement tank but with over 90,000 mile on truck I don't want to spend the money. I'm surprised the truck manufacturers don't offer the option.

I think tank size and payload are factored against each other by the manufacturers! Up goes the tank size and down goes the payload capacity!! Then there was the short box GM crummy 26 gal tank for years!!!!! Put a 8.1 gasser with that and you were lucky to make it from station to station!

But Bill, that would mean I would be stopping to stretch my legs for no reason.
Rob
You could get and travel with a dog then you would have a reason . Also down the road as you get a little older mother nature is going to give you a reason to stop where a few years earlier you would not have needed too!!

Exactly Don, so if I'm going to stop I might as well get fuel.
But our fuel stops don't always match meal and potty breaks! And there's parts of the southwest where it's a looooong way between fuel stations where you can fill when double towing (or even single!). Since I'm the worry wart, an auxiliary tank is high on my wish list

Don & Millie are spot on Rob! Besides you can save by buying the cheap fuel when you find it.
It's only money Rob.
Millie I wish I'd known you were wanting one a year ago, we could have taken the one off my old truck.
