Looks like you found a permanent cure for that check engine light. You won't be disappointed with the new 6.7.

engine wise, i feel like the 7.3 still has lots of miles left in it. (it has 200k on it now).
the truck has really been trouble free.
the truck was just barely rated for the trailer. the new one is rated at 35k CGVW.
the 6.7 has been around sense 2012. really haven't heard anything about it. the two prior attempts at an engine to replace the 7.3 had problems.
just hoping the 6.7 holds up as well as the 7.3.

If you're selling your 7.3 I'm sure you won't have it too long as they are still quite desirable to many people. You'll really like the 6.7 and how well it pulls and handles the load coming down the hills.

Congrats on the new truck.

My 2000 Dually 7.3 has 211k miles and still works well for me. I looked at new trucks last year because I had an itch. But I decided I liked my truck, it's mods, and it has been dependable. Maybe in a year or two.

Jim, I'm glad you listened to me on getting the new 6.7. I am now carrying 2 stools for Debbie to use to get in the truck and her Excursion and they are both 2WD!. The step height isn't too bad if you have the running boards. That was one thing that I had to be very specific about when we got the Ford. Look forward to seeing ya'll at Frog.

we got the 4w drive. the height is causing some problems. the running board is abt 2 inches higher than the old 350 but it really seems more than that. i carry a two step stool that helps.

I can tell you from experience that those aluminum step stools that Camping World sells won't support the weight of your truck. Remembering to pick it up after Debbie gets in has been an issue, so we worked out a system where she does not shut her door until I have picked up the stools and her crutches. Works well most of the time (LOL). Once you get used to having the stool it's not too bad, and you'll love that new truck for pulling the new trailer. NOW, where are the pictures?

we came across on US 16 from yellowstone to Buffalo. the truck pulls great and the tow haul plus exhaust brakes made going down hills a breeze.
from IN to yellowstone on I 90, we had no problem maintaining 65 mph. it did down shift the first time before leaving Wy. i can usually be up to speed before blending traffic as well. there is no shortage of power (at least until the later models come out and leave it in the dust).
