Scratch In Our New Truck

Post by Traveler II »

‪Well, I knew it would happen sometime but I was hoping later. I took our new truck to the car wash yesterday, one of those automatic washes that the machine goes around your truck. I’ve been in this type with our old truck, but it was the first with our new crew cab that is longer. You guess it, when it came around the back the wash hardware put a nice scratch in the tailgate, it look like it’s only the clear coat, but I did it.

I now have my first, second, third and fourth (one was not my fault ) it is a dent in the driver door and I don't know where it came from. The first was repaired. Only the third would be considered a scratch, it's on the rear bumper. I have a back-up camera and the back up alarm and still backed into a electric pedestal at a campground :-\ . I am not sure what it is with this truck, I usually don't have these things happen. I have found that the truck performs just like new with a few dents.

My new truck got scratched by some yoyo at the Sam's parking lot and it was out away from the rest of the crowd. I found it on one of the rear fenders when I came back out, and there was nobody close to me, looks like a shopping cart scratch but it's down to the fiberglass.

We’ve put about 14,000 miles on it this last winter, almost 7,500 of it pulling the trailer. It does a great job so far and like you said except for using more fuel hard to tell the trailer is back there. We especially like the ride compared to other trucks we’ve had.

I went through one of those while we were in Arkansas. I just kept my fingers crossed and hoped all the sensors on the machine worked.

I would figure that you guys with "Training Wheels" would be off limits to "drive-thru" anything. Most fast foods make the entry turn easy, but you aren't getting out the second turn for anything. Now In-N-Out burgers, famous here in CAly-Fornia figured it out and now build wide easy turns in their drive-thrus. Banks? Forgetaboutit.

Maybe it's because people in Texas and Oklahoma love their trucks, but my bank has long straight drive thrus as do many other banks. Many of the fast food drive thrus are dually friendly. No In-N-Outs here ( :thumbrt: ), but I have seen duallys go through our What-A-Burgers (go Texas!) with ease.

The only time I have drive-thru problems is when I'm in the SmartCar (something about not seeing me??) =)) =))

I had been through this bank drive thru before and had not had a problem. The form box had been moved towards the lane and that's what got me in trouble.

I'll bet someone in a Smart Car bent the form box down to reach a form. =))
